Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield

A plane carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, per an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.

"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a online announcement.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.

This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
