A female charged with harassing Kate McCann reportedly left her a voicemail message which posed: "imagine I am Madeleine?"

Madeleine McCann's vanishing has never been solved

On Monday, the court was told call records and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and is still open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that important for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The jury was advised that by means of emails, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with the police force who gathered the information, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted family friends of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I won't give up and I will prove my position."

Court proceedings
Kate and Gerry McCann testified to the court from behind a protective barrier on Wednesday

The court learned the co-defendant established a association via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in December 2024.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the months leading up to the visit to that location, that area, in December 2024.

The court learned correspondence between the two accused, in that autumn, considering attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their house, the defendant sent a communication which said: "We find ourselves positioned adjacent to the McCanns' home with our headlights off similar to detectives. I wanted to achieve this with another person I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings continues.
