American-Palestinian Teenager Freed Following 270 Days in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian teenager who spent nine months in Israeli detention without being charged was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

United States authorities applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

They said he is showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

In a statement, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, our priority is providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

American authorities stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts to release him.

The father, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since February, and only heard regarding the treatment through judicial records.

He stayed without charge at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and homicide.
