Rob Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolves Head Coach Candidates

Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early candidates under consideration to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was sacked on Sunday following the squad's 10-match without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the Wolves leadership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would pose a potential obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the former Luton Town head coach - who made more than 100 of appearances for the club during his playing career - is said to be a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club board as they begin the process of appointing a new head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment given he was released by the club in December last year.

The former West Ham United midfielder is out of work meaning the club would not need to pay any buyout fee.
