A National Palette and Iconic Emblem

The new livery showcases a patriotic colour scheme to represent the national flag and will be rolled out on GBR trains, at terminals, and across its online presence.

Notably, the emblem is the iconic double-arrow design historically used by National Rail and previously designed in the mid-20th century for British Rail.

The Introduction Timeline

The implementation of the branding, which was designed internally, is scheduled to occur over time.

Commuters are expected to start spotting the newly-branded trains on the network from next spring.

Throughout the month of December, the branding will be showcased at major stations, such as Birmingham New Street.

A Journey to Renationalisation

The legislation, which will allow the establishment of Great British Railways, is presently moving through the Parliament.

The government has said it is taking control of the railways so the service is "owned by the public, working for the passengers, not for private shareholders."

The department has stated it will unify seventeen different bodies and "reduce the frustrating administrative hurdles and lack of accountability that has long affected the railways."

Digital Services and Existing Public Control

The launch of Great British Railways will also include a new app, which will let users to see schedules and purchase tickets absent booking fees.

Disabled passengers will also be have the option to use the application to arrange support.

In the last twelve months, c2c have been brought into public ownership, with more anticipated to be added in the coming years.
