Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance

Emerging athlete getting ready for major tournament

The rising star has substantial online following

Kai Trump can count on multiple high-profile backers when she makes her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns numerous golf courses and regularly competes against Kai.

"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa basically advised me to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.

"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.

But she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.

"And he's a more impressive person. He advised me to go out there, relax, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in women's golf at the competition, including world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that her participation brings golf to new audiences, specifically with youth audiences.

Kai boasts a massive following and recently launched her own apparel and wellness company.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
